Founded in February 2006, Norðurflug is the largest and oldest helicopter company in Iceland, with more than 20 years of experience in helicopter operations, sightseeing tours, and professional aerial services. The company was built on a deep passion for flying and a strong connection to Iceland’s unique nature, combined with an uncompromising focus on quality, safety, and service.

Today, Norðurflug is consistently ranked among the top activities in Iceland on TripAdvisor, a recognition that reflects our commitment to exceptional customer care and high operational standards. Our team includes some of the most experienced pilots in the Icelandic private sector, many of whom are regularly trusted by international film and media productions operating in demanding environments.

Norðurflug specializes in personalized and tailor-made experiences, serving FIT travelers, private groups, luxury and incentive travel, photographers, and film crews. The company employs around 23 staff members during high seasonand 15 year-round, with a diverse, multilingual team and equal representation of men and women in management.

Our flagship Geothermal Tour, departing from the heart of Reykjavík, offers an unforgettable one-hour flight over the Hellisheiði plateau, revealing lava fields, steaming geothermal areas, and volcanic landscapes. For longer adventures, the Essential Iceland Tour provides a comprehensive introduction to Iceland’s most iconic natural and cultural highlights.
